Cari is a native Texas who grew up in the Lindale area. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology/Exercises Science from LeTournueau University, where she was a collegiate volleyball and softball athlete. She then completed her Master of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Toledo.
Cari has worked in orthopedics since 2008 bringing nearly two decades of experience in sports medicine, joint replacement, and orthopedic trauma care. She has been practicing at North Texas Orthopedics, now OrthoTexas, since October 2012 where she has become well known among patients and colleagues for her clinical skill, professionalism, and compassionate approach to care. Throughout her career, in additional to her clinic work, she is actively involved in surgery as the surgical first assist alongside her surgeon. She is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Cari volunteers her time as the team physician assistant alongside Dr. Eric Stehly, helping provide orthopedic coverage for Byron Nelson High School and Coppell Highschool athletes as a member of North Texas Orthopedics Sports Medicine Team.
Cari resides in Grapevine with her husband and four children. Outside of work, she enjoys supporting her children in their year-round sports and music activities, cycling and paddle boarding on the lake, spending time with family and friends, and being an active member in her church community.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of my job is seeing the full circle of an athletic injury. Being present at a game when they are unfortunately injured, seeing their reaction to their diagnosis, being there for surgery and all of their post-operative care, seeing them work so hard in physical therapy, and then seeing them return to their sport the following season. I’m humbled to play an active role in their process.
