Dr. Smith

Erin was born in Denver, CO and moved to Texas soon after birth. She attended Texas Tech University for undergrad and graduate school.

Erin was born in Denver, CO and moved to Texas soon after birth. She attended Texas Tech University for undergrad and graduate school. She remains a die-hard red raider to this day. After graduation, she started her career in a general outpatient setting and shortly after moved into a hand clinic. She then switched gears into acute care back home in Amarillo, TX. She married her husband and moved to Pennsylvania where she was a contractor and “did it all”. Including outpatient movement disorders, hand therapy, in-patient rehab, LTAC, neuro-rehab, SNF, acute care, but never home health. They moved back to Dallas, TX in 2011 and she took a job at Parkland Memorial Hospital. She worked in acute care neuro for 8 months and then landed back in the hand clinic. She worked 5 years at Parkland and decided she needed a change. She has been working at OrthoTexas now for 9 years. She enjoys teaching and has been a clinical instructor to 20+ wonderful OT students.

Outside of work I enjoy bootcamp and pilates workouts. I have two wonderful kids with various sports and other activities that keep me and my husband pretty busy.

When you’re in my seat you’re in “good” hands to heal hands!
