Dr. Kouyoumjian received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in New York. He earned his medical degree with honors from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgical residency at North Shore University Hospital in New York, graduating as chief resident.
Dr. Kouyoumjian is a board-certified and fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip, elbow and ankle. He also performs minimally invasive total joint replacement surgery. In addition, he also utilizes Computer Navigation technology during his total knee and hip replacement surgeries for the most precise reconstruction of normal joint anatomy. (please note: Computer Navigation technology is only available at some healthcare facilities, please discuss with Dr. K and his staff prior)
Dr. Kouyoumjian is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, Texas Society of Sports Medicine and the Collin County Medical Society. He serves as a clinical instructor for advanced arthroscopic surgery for the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and also supports the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons as an official examiner for the Orthopedic Board Certification Exam.
Dr. Kouyoumjian also has a long standing history as the team physician for Liberty High School of Frisco.
