Meet Christy Coon

She graduated from The University of Texas Medical Branch in 2003 with a Master’s degree in Physician assistant studies, and she began her PA journey in Neurosurgery, where she spent 10 years gaining extensive experience in complex neurological conditions and surgical care. For the past 13 years, she has worked in Orthopedics alongside Dr. Rey, continuing her passion for improving patients’ quality of life through thoughtful, individualized care.

Christy takes pride in spending time with my patients, clearly explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and upcoming procedures or surgeries so they feel comfortable every step of the way. As a breast cancer survivor, she brings a deep level of empathy and understanding to her practice, allowing her to connect with patients on both a professional and personal level.

Outside of work, she enjoys life with her husband and two boys, cheering them on at baseball and football games and dive meets. She loves camping together as a family. She’s a lifelong sports fan—especially of the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Stars. In her downtime, you’ll find her reading, playing pickleball, or enjoying a good game of mahjong.
