Dr. Eric Wieser is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon and a lifelong Texan who has been proudly serving the North Texas community for nearly 15 years. He graduated with honors from Trinity University in 1994 and went on to earn his medical degree with honors from Baylor College of Medicine. In 2003, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University, followed by a fellowship in spinal surgery at the prestigious UCLA School of Medicine.
After completing his training, Dr. Wieser returned to North Texas, where he joined the staff at AOA Orthopedic Specialists and became one of the co-founders of the Baylor Orthopedic and Spine Hospital in Arlington. He currently practices out of the AOA Arlington and Mansfield offices and is also the founder and medical director of the Texas Comprehensive Spine Center.
Dr. Wieser specializes in minimally invasive spinal surgery, robotic-assisted procedures, and complex cervical and lumbar spinal reconstruction. One of the minimally invasive procedures he performs is cervical disc replacement using the Centinel Spine prodisc C Vivo, designed to relieve neck and spine pain. His care philosophy is simple but powerful: treat every patient like family. He chose to go into orthopedics because he saw how it could quickly and significantly improve patients’ lives. His passion for spine surgery stems from the exciting innovations the field has seen over the years.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Wieser plays an active role in advancing the spine surgery field by peer-reviewing medical journal articles and contributing to book chapters. He is the team physician for the University of Texas at Arlington and is consistently recognized by his peers as a “Top Doc” in Fort Worth Magazine, D Magazine, Living Magazine, and Texas Monthly, among others.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Wieser is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys big game hunting, fishing, running, snow skiing, spending time at the lake, and cheering on his favorite team—the Dallas Cowboys.
His care philosophy is simple but powerful: treat every patient like family.
